Annual results from Crewe-based Alliance Disposables have revealed that the catering equipment and consumables distributor was able to maintain its profitability last year after recording a solid increase in sales.
The company posted a pre-tax profit of £1.2m in 2011 compared with £1.3m the year. Gross profit actually grew from £15.6m to £17.7m.
Revenues at the company jumped £4.7m to £62.8m as it expanded the business with the opening of another regional depot.
It currently offers customers a selection of 18,000 products, including catering equipment, disposables, cleaning materials, janitorial items and glassware.
B2B news source Insider Media reported that notes accompanying the annual accounts said the directors were “pleased” with the business performance and the strength of the balance sheet.
“The company business plan and strategy is to build upon its national, regional and internet-based platform and the directors are planning controlled growth in all areas during the next financial year,” said the notes. “Additional investment has been committed to focus on debt control and risk assessment in these areas.”
