Airport cafe flies high with £300k kitchen refurb

Delaware North Companies UK has opened the doors to a new offering at Manchester Airport Runway Visitor Park following a refurbishment worth more than a quarter of a million pounds.

Around £300,000 was spent on The Concorde Restaurant & Coffee House during a seven-week refurbishment that saw a complete remodelling of the site and delivery of a new state-of-the-art kitchen.

The company had not got back to us with the name of the kitchen contractor at the time of publication, but did confirm that Birmingham-based hospitality specialist Tibbatts Abel led the interior design of the venue.

Doug Tetley, managing director for Delaware North, said the restaurant was a fantastic addition to one of Manchester’s major tourist attractions.

“The work we have done has seen the restaurant completely remodeled and our improvements ensure we are able to deliver customers a new level of service.

“Our new kitchen facilities allow us to cater for a range of occasions, offering fantastic menus whether it’s for a family on a day trip, or a conference for 400 seated under the wings of Concorde.”

More than 330,000 people visit the Runway Visitor Park every year, with the venue also being hired for corporate events, charity dinners and weddings.
