Airedale organises charity walk in memory of Mike Armer

Mike Armer loved the Yorkshire Dales area which will host his memorial walk.

In June, Airdale Catering Equipment project manager Mike Armer sadly lost his brave battle with cancer.

He was known throughout the commercial catering industry, both on the distributor and manufacturer/supplier side, and is described as a “hugely respected and much loved colleague”.

Airedale wanted to do something in his memory and raise funds for charity at the same time.

Therefore the distributor has organised the Mike Armer Memorial Challenge, which will take the same route as the Yorkshire 3 Peaks.

Set amongst the breath-taking but harsh Yorkshire Dales in an area much loved by Mike and his family, a group from Airedale and Mike’s close relatives will be tackling this 25-mile challenge and raise money for Pendleside Hospice.

Pendleside was the hospice that looked after Mike and continues to support his family. Like any Hospice, it relies heavily on donations from the public.

Airedale has set up a Just Giving page and hopes to raise over £2.5k for Pendleside.

If you would like to find out more about the Challenge and would be willing to support Pendleside Hospice, visit the JustGiving page here.

  1. I was very sad to hear the news of Mike passing and have fond memories of working on projects and having long chats about cars with him. It’s fantastic he is being remembered in this way and hope it brings some comfort to his family as well as supporting the hospice. Good luck to all involved.
