Bradford-based distributor Airedale Group has boosted its public sector capabilities with the appointment of a new BIM manager.
Darran Woods’ principal objectives will be to increase the productivity and quality of work in the public sector, which Airedale feels is a key part of its business – in particular, designing and delivering many of the country’s new schools under government build programmes such as Priority Schools.
Since the government’s Level 2 mandate came into force back in April 2016, any public sector new build has to be delivered within BIM.
Therefore Airedale felt that appointing a specific BIM manager was pivotal, as this is intended to reinforce its position as a leading specialist commercial catering facility design and project delivery company.
Woods was hired after an extensive recruitment process and commented: “Our existing team are already experienced in working within BIM and we aim to complete all of their personal accreditation followed by a business-wide accreditation as soon as we can.”
Airedale will soon be producing regular blogs regarding BIM which it will share on its social media channels, during a period it describes as “one of the most exciting” of its more than 32-year history.
