Advance achieves ISO 9001 first

Advance Group commercial director, Darryl Pannell, says the certification is almost unheard of for an SME.

Kitchen design house, Advance Group, has been awarded ISO 9001:2015 certification – the international standard for quality management.

The business is one of the first in the UK to be certified under the latest 2015 revision which came into effect in September last year.

Over the past year, Advance Group has been reviewing its existing documentation and systems to create an integrated management system that includes quality, environmental and health and safety.

The ISO 9001:2015 certification sits alongside the ISO 14001:2015 – the standard for Environmental management and the OHSAS 18001:2007 – a British standard for health and safety management.

As part of the ISO 9001:2015 standard, the business was required to demonstrate that it had implemented a quality management system, improving efficiency and transparency which will have a positive effect on customer relationships.

Dean Moriarty, ISO external consultant commented: “I was so impressed with the methodology of assessment to risk and targets for measurement and improvement used throughout the Advance Group, that I will use them as a benchmark for my future consultancies for the 2015 standards.”

Darryl Pannell, commercial director, Advance Group added: “This is a great achievement for our business – almost unheard of in a company of our size.

“We see a future where foodservice is made more efficient. We are committed to the continual improvement of all our processes, together with responsible environmental management, where we protect the environment.

“Our approach will also work to prevent pollution, whilst implementing a waste hierarchy which will see us reducing, reusing and recycling all waste materials.”

He continued: “We take this commitment to our customers, the environment and our staff seriously and are dedicated to maintaining and improving upon the highest levels of customer service and social responsibility.”
