An “action plan” to facilitate a greater uptake of energy efficient catering equipment in the foodservice sector will be unveiled in central London this afternoon.
The ‘Equipped for the Future’ report has been compiled by ice machine and refrigeration manufacturer Hoshizaki in conjunction with Footprint Intelligence and bids to shed light on how the sector can better utilise energy efficient equipment moving forward.
It will examine a range of topics, including the barriers to purchasing energy efficient equipment, the expectation on ROI from operators and the ways in which manufacturers can overcome the value engineering of sustainable equipment from large projects.
Hoshizaki’s UK managing director, Steve Loughton, CESA director Keith Warren and BaxterStorey’s sustainability chief Mike Hanson will all be speaking at the launch of the report. The event will be chaired by freelance journalists and sustainability specialist Amy Fetzer.
The ‘Equipped for the Future’ report takes over from the industry ‘Green Paper’ previously published by Gram, which is now fully integrated into the Hoshizaki business.
