Acquisitions fuel huge Nisbets turnover growth

Nisbets has continued its strong success in catering equipment sales.

Nisbets’ trading results for the year ended 31 December 2016 show that turnover is up by over 25%, with £321.1m posted this year, compared to £255.4m for the 12 months prior.

Profits before tax of £34.1m also represent a 7% increase from 2015’s £26m.

The catering equipment supply giant believes its acquisitions of four businesses; Mitre Linen, Space Catering, Bradshaw Microwave and Rowlett Rutland, have helped to drive its successes.

Tim Carr, finance director at Nisbets, commented: “The 2016 figures pay testament to a strong business which is first and foremost focused on delivering the very best prices and service to our customers.

“The recent acquisitions have allowed us to further widen our market leading product offering and to give greater service in areas which previously may not have been seen as Nisbets’ strength. The directors continue to be pleased with the overall financial performance of our business and believe that Nisbets is in an ideal to position to maintain its growth and expand its market share.”

Nisbets currently operates in multiple countries worldwide, including the UK, France, Spain and Australia and now employs over 1,200 people. As well as having a catalogue and online business, Nisbets has grown its retail presence to 36 stores worldwide.
