The name Uropa might be familiar to those within the catering equipment industry, as it has been one of the Nisbets group’s distribution channels since the company formerly known as Apuro was essentially re-formed by the Bristol-based supplier giant in 2009.

Apuro brought with it brand agreements for Samsung professional microwaves and KitchenAid mixers but over the years this channel has since merged with sister wholesale firm, RB Distributors.

“Uropa Brands has now been formed to create the support function for dealers that want to sell the brands that are sold exclusively through the RB channel,” Richard Ebbs, the head of Uropa Brands told Catering Insight.

The RB team is still very much in place, and there to help the dealer with their everyday enquiries. However with the vast array of products in this channel’s catalogue, they can’t be experts in them all.

This is where the new Uropa Brands support team will come in, as Ebbs explained: “Our team is able to support RB’s key brands.

“They are experts in their individual fields, and can help secure sales for the RB team, dealers and end users, backing that up with great product knowledge.”

Uropa Brands represents 30 key brands which include Polar Refrigeration, Thor gas cooking equipment, Buffalo heavy duty equipment, Caterlight light equipment (which was separated off from the Buffalo range in 2014), Chinacraft tableware and Vogue cookware, while other exclusive brands include Zoin Refrigeration, Samsung microwaves, the vast KitchenAid catering equipment range, Santos juicers, coffee machines and blenders, Dynamic food preparation equipment, Waring blenders, Chef Works kitchen apparel, Pira charcoal ovens, APS buffet display systems, Dick knives and Bolero furniture.
