Williams bites into sandwich chiller market

Williams has swelled its front-of-house refrigerated display range with a new sandwich chiller.

The unit, which forms part of the company’s Gem range, gives customers ‘grab and go’ access to drinks, snacks, sandwiches and plated cold foods, while its forced-air refrigeration system keeps products at a constant temperature.

The chiller’s ventilation system works from beneath the cabinet, meaning there is no front, rear or side grill. It can be sited against the wall or fitted flush between other display units, with bright white LED lighting delivering extra eye-appeal.

“The Gem Sandwich Chiller maximises every inch of retail space,” says Martin Laws, marketing manager at Williams. “Even down to the lighting: the energy-saving LEDs take less space than a conventional fluorescent strip, so there’s more room for product.”

The GEM also has an enhanced, thermostatically controlled forced-air refrigeration system. This, explains Laws, reduces pull down times and guarantees even temperature control between 2°C and 5°C, ensuring products are kept fresh.
