Vision Commercial Kitchens has expanded its sales team focusing on garden centre retailers as it looks to strengthen its coverage of the sector.
The team will be headed up by Vision’s business development director, Chris Rouine, along with three other foodservice professionals with a combined 60 years of experience in the industry.
This is in addition to its current sales professionals serving other markets.
Garden centres have become a growing part of Lancashire-based Vision’s business over the past five years. Last year it sponsored a dedicated catering section of the Glee show for gardening retailers in Birmingham.
Vision says it is able to help customers deliver a full turnkey service from start to finish, as well as assisting with garden centres plans for growth, including any increases in seating, additional equipment or a basic revamp of counters.
Data released by the Horticultural Trades Association (HTA) last year shows that the number of visits to garden centre cafes has increased more than 50% over the last three years.
More than half of specialist garden retailers now possess equipment to provide a catering offering, according to the report.
