Unox and co chew the fat with chefs

Catering equipment suppliers were well represented at the latest instalment of The Chefs’ Forum in London.

Unox, Adande, Charvet and Winterhalter were among the brands participating in the recent event at South Thames College, taking the opportunity to showcase their kit to both established and up-and-coming chefs.

The forum was the third to have taken place in London following its launch at Westminster Kingsway College with Pierre Koffmann last May.

Bruno Loubet, chef ambassador at South Thames College, led the demos with assistance from Coworth Park head chef, Ross Marshall, and a number of VRQ Level 2 students. Together they produced a selection of impressive savoury and sweet canapés.

Loubet, who is ex-head chef at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons and latterly chef proprietor at Bistro Bruno Loubet and The Grain Store, said: “I do a lot with the college as its chef ambassador and am very impressed with its students’ performance. It’s great to be able to pass on my knowledge and experience to the next generation of young chefs.”

The day was rounded off with an insight to urban foraging from Michelin-starred Simon Hulstone’s personal forager David Harrison.
