UK-based Trimline, supplier of marine interiors, is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2015.
Today Trimline is a £25 million business that delivers bespoke service to cruise clients including Carnival UK (Cunard and P&O), Royal Caribbean, Tui Thomson Cruises, Windstar, Crystal and Seabourne, the Royal Fleet Auxiliary and Royal Navy in the military sector, and ferry operators including Red Funnel, Condor Ferries, DFDS and Stena Line.
Having started as a one-man operation in a garage, Trimline now occupies a purpose-designed 33,000ft2 facility that has recently seen the addition of a new demonstration galley and electrical department. The business has just taken on its largest-ever project and has some very ambitious plans for the future, making its 50th year one of the most important in its history.
The company will mark this milestone anniversary in a number of ways. It held a staff party on 16 February – half a century to the day since the business was founded.
In June, the directors and staff will enjoy a mini-cruise from Hamburg to Southampton aboard the Queen Mary 2 and the same month the directors will host a dinner at the Hotel du Vin in Winchester, where the company’s clients will be invited to celebrate its continued success.

As he so rightly put it, ‘you’re only as good as the people you employ’. That is still very much our ethos today.
“Over the last 50 years, we have shaped the boundaries of design and function, viewing our customers as strategic partners and focusing on the whole asset lifecycle. We’re currently investing heavily in the business and we believe the next 50 years will be even more exciting.”
