Equipment fabricator DTEC Catering Ltd, trading as Weldtec Welding Techniques, has been put into liquidation.
It manufactures specialist wok cookers, oriental and Asian cooking ranges, as well as other kitchen equipment and extraction systems. It also builds buffet bars, outfits catering trailers and leases and rents equipment. The firm’s principal trading address is in the Wedgwood Works in the Tunstall area of Stoke on Trent.
On its website, the company says: “Founded in 1988, Welding Techniques noticed a gap in the market. There were few companies providing a complete kitchen design and installation service for the fast growing take away food and restaurant industry.
“Now 28 years on, we have designed, manufactured and installed cooking and ventilation equipment for many hundreds of takeaways and restaurants throughout the UK and Ireland. We have moulded our company to meet the demands of an ever changing industry and now offer the very latest in kitchen innovation.”
Diane Dunion of Stoke-based Dunion & Co Ltd confirmed to Catering Insight that her firm has now been appointed as the liquidator for DTEC. A creditors meeting took place at Dunion & Co’s offices on 29 May, where it was agreed that DTEC would be voluntarily wound up.
Catering Insight has tried to contact DTEC’s director, Denver Davies on several occasions, including this morning, but has not been able to reach him for comment as of yet.
