For a venue which is hoping to be a restaurant, bar and takeaway all in one, it would be a tall order to design and fit out the kitchen.

But when the site is very tight and the access very narrow, it adds an extra layer of difficulty to the project.

Nevertheless, Ware-based TAG Catering Equipment took on exactly this scenario when it won the contract to outfit the kitchen of Strut & Cluck, a new turkey-based eatery in London’s Shoreditch area.

The venture was also a bit of a voyage into the unknown for husband and wife owner team, Amir and Limor Chen.

Formerly the CEO and co-owner of cafe chain, Apostrophe, this represented Amir’s first foray into restaurants.

Having trialled the Eastern Mediterranean concept as a pop-up in Shoreditch House last November, the Chens were recommended TAG as being able to develop their ideas into a permanent fixture.

According to TAG’s business development manager, Michael Bradley: “There was 6 weeks of negotiation during which the client detailed their brief.

“They wanted a cocktail bar feel in one area, but also with a takeaway aspect, but for customers in the main restaurant not to feel like they are in a takeaway. It’s an unusual vibe.
