Tableware specialist Steelite International is sponsoring this year’s British Street Food Awards.

The annual awards champion the street food scene’s class acts across Britain and Northern Ireland.

The best traders will gather for the finals at the Rainbow Arena, Digbeth, Birmingham, on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 September to cook for the judges and festival goers, against a street scene of live music, street art, and eight-bit gaming, with the victors revealed on Sunday.

The finalists will be judged across various categories, including ‘Best Main’, sponsored by Steelite International. Festival goers will vote for the People’s Choice award.

The winner of the ultimate judges’ prize, ‘Best of the Best’, sponsored by Santa Maria Foodservice, can look forward to a month of pitches at a Street Feast Market.

Experts from the food world will do the judging, including Michelin-starred chefs Simon Hulstone and Brad Carter, Daily Telegraph food columnist Xanthe Clay, and British Street Food Awards founder Richard Johnson.

Street food is set to be the driving force behind the next wave of casual dining brands in the wake of success stories MEATLiquor and Pizza Pilgims.
