Space Catering Equipment will kick off the New Year by refurbishing the kitchen at Jamie Oliver’s prestigious ‘Fifteen’ in Cornwall.
Construction company Ease has a 21-day window to complete the restaurant overhaul and Space will work with the firm to meet the deadline.
To add to the challenge, Fifteen is perched halfway down a cliff in Watergate Bay, which means that all the catering equipment will have to be transported from the car park level to the restaurant level.
A new Athanor cooking suite and Josper charcoal-fired grill are just some of the items that Space will have to crane down to the restaurant.
The project will be overseen by Space’s Julian Hale, who will work closely with head chef, Andy Appleton, to ensure the fit-out is completed as seamlessly as possible.
Fifteen is the brain-child of Jamie Oliver and is part of a global social enterprise with a clear mission: to empower those who deserve a second chance in life, primarily through chef apprenticeships.
The restaurant will produce a wide range of Italian dishes, with 80% of ingredients locally sourced from Cornwall.
