Employees from catering equipment and home appliances firm Smeg are to take part in a UK-to-France bike ride to raise money for charity.
Nine members of the Smeg biking community will cycle 261 miles over four days this September in a bid to raise as much cash as possible for Action Medical Research.
The charity, which funds life-changing research projects for ill babies and children in the UK, is Smeg’s chosen charity for 2014.
The ride begins from Blackheath in London on Wednesday 10 September and finishes along the Champs Elysees in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower on Saturday 13th September.
Smeg’s catering equipment chief Phil Coulstock is among the employees signed up for the ride, along with Mike Giddings (MD), Rob Ponting (commercial director), Steve Burry (stock controller), Kerri Goddard (admin assistant), Chris Hill (home delivery driver), Dave Jones (class 1 delivery driver), Al Vine (home delivery driver) and Martyn Roy (home delivery driver).
Action Medical Research has set up a dedicated ‘Smeg fundraising page’ where online donations can be made. Anybody wishing to support this worthy cause can do so here.
