Salford-based CFS has completed the installation of a new kitchen and laundry facility at the Oakes Nursing Home in Huddersfield.
CFS provided full design, supply and installation of all catering and laundry equipment including ventilation systems for both areas.
CFS says that when designing the kitchen, the equipment had to be capable of producing “restaurant quality” food. The Oakes philosophy is to provide care to clients within a hotel quality environment with facilities that include a cinema, internet cafe and grand piano.
Keith Tierney, sales director at CFS, was faced with a balancing act when it came to specifying the kitchen equipment as he had to design and supply a kitchen which would allow the chefs to produce the wide choice of quality dishes on the menu while also keeping to a “rigid” budget.
“The equipment selected was a cooking suite of Blue Seal prime cooking equipment including a solid top and six burner range, twin tank fryer complemented with a 10-grid Houno combination oven,” he said.
“There are refrigeration and freezer cabinets for bulk storage and a refrigerated counter unit adjacent to the cookline which provides an enhanced work flow for the chefs. All refrigerated items of equipment are from Capital refrigeration range of products.”
All aspects of the ventilation system were designed and supplied by Leeds-based Cyclone Ventilation, while the installation was carried out by CFS’ sister company Archers Catering Systems.
