Robot Coupe cooks up equipment first

Robot Coupe has released its much-awaited Robot Cook, a multi-use food preparation appliance aimed at top-end commercial caterers.

The manufacturer claims it has created the only ‘cooking cutter blender’ on the market that can meet the demanding standards of professional chefs in a single device.

The Robot Cook allows chefs to emulsify, grind, blend, chop, mix and knead, while ingredients can be heated to a temperature of 140°C, accurate to within one degree.

Its powerful induction motor has been designed to be ultra quiet, while the 3.7-litre stainless-steel bowl is generously sized for professional use.

Ed Cotterell, Robot Coupe’s UK managing director, told Catering Insight the decision to launch a heavy duty cutter mixer with heating and cooking functionality was a response to customer demand.

“There are products on the market from domestic appliance manufacturers that are used in the hospitality industry but they are not conceived or built for the rigours of a commercial kitchen and therefore constantly fail,” he said. “The Robot Cook is conceived and engineered specifically for the commercial environment.”

Robot Coupe says that the machine’s scraper arm, meanwhile, is the only one of its kind on the market. It is twinned with a lid wiper so that operators can monitor the work in progress from beginning to end.

Ingredients can be added via an opening in the lid while the machine is still running, while a safety device holds the blade assembly in place while the contents are removed from the bowl.
