Adande today became the latest major catering equipment manufacturer to hike its prices after admitting it was becoming increasingly expensive to purchase components from abroad.
While other UK manufacturers claim they have benefitted from the falling pound, Adande said the volume of parts it sources internationally had made it impossible to hold prices.
According to Catering Insight’s sister title, FEJ, a new pricing structure, which includes a 5% rise across the manufacturer’s whole range, will come into force from December 2016.
The firm has said it will look into reversing the decision in summer 2017 if the sterling situation has changed.
This move follows similar steps by Hobart, Hubbard and Precision, among others, as the exchange rate slump continues to increase costs for manufacturers.
