Preparations for the RH Hall-sponsored British BBQ Battle championships are in full swing.

The contest, which will take place on Wednesday 15 June at Blenheim Palace, has now announced its finalists.

New for this year is the People’s Chef Award which will be judged by the spectators on the day.

At the final, chefs will cook their dishes on Crown Verity BBQs supplied by RH Hall.

All dishes cooked must include at least one of the range of sauces available through event sponsor Lion Sauces.

The finalists had submitted a three course meal that can all be prepared on a BBQ that they can cook within the specified one hour time frame.

There are over £15,000 worth of prizes to be won from the event sponsors.

Each finalist will receive: a Sharp Commercial Microwave, a Simply Stainless Professional Chef’s Table, a Smeg Mixer, Exclusive BBQ Battle Chefs’ Whites, a full set of Lion Sauces and BBQ utensils.

In addition, the 2016 BBQ Battle Champion will win their own Crown Verity BBQ.

The expert panel of judges will be: Ben Bartlett, BBQ Champion and President of the British BBQ Association; Bill Verity, President of Crown Verity; Gareth Finney, 2015 BBQ Battle Champion and Jim Eaves of the British Culinary Foundation.
