Bristol-based distributor QCM has announced the completion of two quick-turn-around fit-out projects with Friska.
The dealer worked on two fitting jobs for the healthy fast food chain last month, the first being relocating the Bristol store from Queens Road to nearby Park Street.
This required a fast turnaround over the recent August Bank Holiday weekend, with the original store closing on Friday evening and QCM’s engineers working over the Bank Holiday to strip out the existing kitchen and relocate key pieces of equipment to their new location.
Over the following 2 days, the QCM engineers completed the installation to allow Friska to open 3 days later to minimise its closure and to coincide with the return of students to nearby Bristol University.
One item which did not get relocated in Bristol was a 2.4m long Viessman display chiller which was removed by a specialist team and shipped directly to Manchester, where QCM was fitting out Friska’s first store in the North West at Manchester Science Park.
By 4pm the same day the Viessman display was safely positioned in its new location as part of a full fit out in the new Bright Building which is a state of the art workplace.
The new store features the signature Friska urban industrial look service counter manufactured by QCM with 40mm thick polished concrete worktop, hot rolled steel coffee section, reclaimed oak plank fascia, UV bonded glass display cubes and decorative steel beam.
QCM’s general manager Gerry Oakley said: “To handle two large fit-outs in such a short timescale, with the logistical considerations of working through the Bank Holiday and mixing existing and new equipment was a challenge. However, having completed all of Friska’s fit outs over the last few years and having a great working relationship and understanding of their business means that we have achieved a great outcome in both locations.”
