Porkka UK recently completed a cold room project at a bakery on Benbecula in the Outer Hebrides.
The bakery had a problem with its cold room so Porkka technical staff visited the site to fully understand the project requirements, and subsequently designed and installed an outdoor cold room suite.
A key element of the specification was that the cold room should be able to withstand extreme weather conditions, including winds of up to 100mph.
Porkka is strongly in favour of a bespoke approach, stating that ‘off-the-shelf’ cold rooms or freezer rooms are often a compromise rather than the perfect solution.
Therefore the company offers a comprehensive made-to-measure service tailored precisely to each project’s requirements.
Comprising a full design, installation and commissioning turnkey package – backed by a full warranty – the Porkka made-to-measure service provides total flexibility.
As such it overcomes any constraints relating to size, shape and access restrictions.
Made-to-measure cold and freezer rooms can be located inside or outside a building and provided with a range of access options that include sliding, hinged, up-and-over, flap and roll-type doors – operated manually or electrically.
Floors, with or without ramps for vehicle access, are also designed and constructed to suit the anticipated usage.
