Cambridgeshire-based distributor, Olive Branch Catering Equipment (OBCE), has completed the outfit of several kitchens within a new London office block.
The Zig Zag building in Victoria houses 187,000ft2 of high end commercial office space, including three floors which have become fund manager Jupiter Asset Management’s headquarters.
OBCE’s involvement in the project started with contractor BWI approaching the firm to be its chosen supplier to provide and install all catering areas within Jupiter’s offices.
The install included a commercial kitchen, pantry and various tea points throughout the three levels. Equipment fitted was supplied by brands such as Foster, Gamko, Hatco, Topline, Pioneer, Halton and Craster.
The project was originally valued at £230,000 and was a logistical test, as the installation took place on the seventh, eighth and ninth floors of the building.
The programme only allowed the dealer 12 weeks from the order to hand over the facility, with the contract received in July and installation taking place last September over a 2 week period.
With extensive joinery coordination, OBCE had to be conscious of other trades when carrying out value engineering for its client. It meant that it was a mean feat, but OBCE, the consultant and builder all pulled together to make it happen.
