Fire suppression specialist Nobel Fire Systems has strengthened its NPD and innovation capabilities with the appointment of Dan Carlson as lead technical and development engineer.
Carlson has joined with the brief to provide additional research and development expertise to further develop and expand Nobel’s portfolio of fire suppression systems which are now in use across the globe.
While his primary focus will be on suppression systems and associated electrical controls, he will also provide back-up technical support to the existing team when required.
Having graduated from The University of Manchester with an M.Eng (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Carlson most recently worked at EA Technology as an electronics design consultant where his main role was designing, testing and implementing greenfield electronics projects.
In this role his required skillset included: R&D, project management and a thorough understanding of both electrical and mechanical design, product development and programming. All of these attributes will now be continued in his new position within Nobel.
According to Nobel’s commercial director, Ben Parker: “Clearly there’s no doubting Dan’s stamina, nor his appetite and capabilities when it comes to delivering practical and innovative solutions in his new role.”
In his spare time Carlson is currently working towards obtaining IET Chartership accreditation and will be submitting his application later this year.
Away from the working environment he relaxes by embarking on long distance road cycling and last year completed a 600 mile marathon ride for charity.
