Nisbets pulls trigger with smoking gun range

Nisbets has launched a new catering equipment product that it says can produce smoked dishes without resorting to the “time-consuming and messy” methods traditionally associated with smoking.

The company is now stocking the PolyScience Smoking Gun, which it brands “quick and simple to use”, allowing chefs to create an array of flavoursome smoked dishes with ease.

The Smoking Gun is ideal for adding smoky twists to existing menu favourites, or creating something completely new, and can be used with everything from meat, fish, vegetables and cheese right through to desserts and even cocktails.

The product, along with wood chips that Nisbets offers, have already proved popular with kitchen staff at the Fifield Inn in Maidenhead.

Head chef, Justin Brown, said: “We love experimenting with what it can do having had real success with our homemade butter, which we smoke using Applewood chips. It takes only minutes to infuse a gorgeous flavour into the butter, and works particularly well with our olive and walnut bread.’’
