New range of convection ovens from Standex

Standex Food Service Equipment is now distributing the Magnifico range of multi function convection ovens in the UK.

Manufactured by Italian company, Giorik S.p.A., the ovens bear the well-established brand of Standex FSE’s sister company, BKI.

The distribution agreement follows the acquisition by Standex International Corporation of a 20% equity ownership in Giorik.

The recently launched, state-of-the-art Magnifico series is particularly suited to bake off applications, but the ovens’ inherent flexibility also provides core probe cooking, reheating and holding functions.

The convection ovens are available in a range of sizes, from three grid to ten grid, accommodating 1/1 gastronorm pans or 600 x 400 mm baking trays. For environments where limited space is a factor, the range includes smaller models, which accommodate 2/3 gastronorm pans.

User friendly operation is via a choice of manual controller or touch pad programmable panel, with digital readout. The latter offers the capacity for 99 recipes, with nine sequences, which may be uploaded through a USB port.

Magnifico models incorporate high efficiency coated cooking elements, whilst a silicon door gasket and generous insulation ensure uniform and stable temperatures within the oven chamber. Additional features include a positive heat resistant door handle, pressure door lock, ventilated cool touch door and a removable condensate collection tray.

Seamless chambers with rounded corners and removable rack guides facilitate cleaning regimes. An optional fully automatic wash system is also available, eliminating labour intensive manual cleaning costs and reducing water consumption.

Magnifico ovens are available with a variety of options, including a two speed fan and steam injection. A control system provides constant monitoring and regulation of humidity for optimum cooking, where steam is required.

Malcolm Morris, Standex FSE’s Distributor Sales Manager, believes that the scope of the Magnifico range and the cooking flexibility of the models provide distributors with opportunities to address a broader range of markets with equipment from a single source.

He said: “The Magnifico range has something for everyone; from small coffee shops seeking to develop a hot food offer to large bake off operations aiming to increase capacity and expand their product range. The cooking flexibility of the ovens means that operators can maximise their use, throughout the day for increased sales and greater profit. The ovens may be used for morning products, lunchtime breads, baguettes and hot savouries, as well as pastries, cakes and confectionery for afternoon teas.”

He added that the sustained growth of the bake off and hot food to go sectors is providing greater opportunities for the sale of convection ovens:

“Cafés, sandwich shops, convenience stores, forecourt outlets, quick service restaurants and bakers are all potential customers for the Magnifico range of convection ovens.”
