Imperial Catering Equipment has unveiled the first new addition to its portfolio in 2014 in the shape of the Hatco Therm-Max Salamander.
The company said the ‘versatile’ £1,700 salamander would deliver big benefits to UK caterers without burning a giant hole in their pockets.
The Therm-Max boasts a quick start-up speed thanks to ‘instant on’ heating elements strategically positioned to reduce the transfer of heat to surrounding areas and precisely position heat over food.
Andy Piggin, sales director for Hatco, said the salamander was ideal for budget-conscious kitchens that want the flexibility to cook, grill and reheat food.
“Arguably, the biggest culprit for wasting energy and keeping running costs high is the traditional salamander, which is often turned on as soon as the kitchen opens and is left on all day, pumping out heat,” he said.
“The Hatco Therm-Max Salamander is not only very reasonably priced, it is an extremely efficient piece of kit with high-powered heating elements that are ready for use within 10 seconds, saving caterers a packet on energy costs.”
The salamander’s left and right heating elements can be operated independently, offering flexibility and energy conservation.
