MIWE presents hybrid oven in a flash

MIWE is the latest company to add an accelerated cooking oven to its portfolio.

Epsom-based catering equipment supplier EPP is bringing MIWE’s new Gusto Flash accelerated cooking oven to the UK.

EPP MD Steve Merritt detailed: “It heats prepared snacks lightning fast at the point-of-sale. As a hybrid oven it also means that operators can sell the ideal snack. One that is crispy on the outside and hot on the inside.

“Epsom-based EPP has been enabling innovation and supplying top quality ovens made by MIWE to the British and Irish food industry for over 45 years.”

Merritt believes that it’s the combination of impingement and microwave technology that allows the new oven to achieve this feat. Advanced microwave technology with magnetrons on both sides should ensure a uniform distribution and, therefore, much faster heating.

Microwave power is between 0 and 100% while the oven’s accelerated air flows up to 26m/s from above and below, which are also adjustable from 0 to 100%.

The oven is operated using a large colour display panel which holds up to 384 programmes – each can have up to six programme sections.

The optional Meteorite flagstone serves as heat storage and is said to improve the taste and texture of food cooked on it.

Its stainless steel surfaces, coated microwave windows and removable jet plates are also designed to make it easy to clean.
