The Airedale Group has appointed Mike Butt as MD of Airedale Catering Equipment, its specialist design and build brand.
The new role has been created as CEO Rob Bywell is looking to develop other areas of the group. He commented: “Over the last 5 years we have successfully developed our brands in the catering and hospitality markets. With over 200 full time employees it is now the right time to bring in someone that can lead and support the team on to the next phase of development.”
Speaking to Catering Insight, Butt detailed that he has been brought onboard to continue to grow the business focus and develop supplier relationships in particular, as well as customer relationships. “Coming from a manufacturing background, having been the MD of Dawson Food Service Equipment until December last year, I will be emphasising the importance of our supplier relationships,” he said.
“I chose to join Airedale due to its aspirations and vision for the future. It has a fabulous reputation in the marketplace for its technical expertise and customer service levels.
“Our appetite and ambition for developing our business and building an entrepreneurial culture remains as strong as ever. We have a clear plan to take the group forward, and I am looking forward to working with the Airedale team, customers and suppliers to deliver this.”
Bywell added: “Mike has had considerable success in building strong performing brands in the UK foodservice market, and as a former customer, I can pay testament to the high standards of customer care he instilled within his teams.
“I have been impressed with Mike’s passion for our industry, his integrity and his leadership skills. This is an exciting time for the group and Mike’s experience will be invaluable in guiding the business as we continue to strive to develop our customer experience.”
