Metcalfe slashes kitchen manpower with latest chopper

The Nemco Easy Chopper 3 is claimed to be faster and more user-friendly.

Metcalfe Catering Equipment has introduced the Nemco Easy Chopper 3 into its product portfolio to reduce manual labour and preparation times.

The Nemco Easy Chopper 3 claims to be faster and more user-friendly than its predecessor and can be used for chopping, slicing and wedging of onions, potatoes, celery, peppers and other firm vegetables, as well as fresh herbs.

The latest version’s features include new colour-coding for blade assemblies and push blocks, new push block gaskets for easy cleaning and a new push block coating to increase durability and extend block life.

The colour-coded blade assemblies and push blocks are designed to make correct change-out faster and easier than the previous model, with less risk of mismatching, a mistake which can crash the blades and damage the block.

With the new push block gaskets, the blocks can be cleaned by pulling two tabs to remove and clear away all the food debris in one action. The block can then be rinsed clean, and the gasket can be slipped back over to continue.

The nylon-based resin material now used to manufacture the push blocks is more durable than previous models. The enhancement promises a longer performance life, and reduces the risk of tooth breakage or block shavings in the food from accidental blade contact while cutting.

Seven models are available, ranging from a quarter of an inch square cut version to a half-inch thick slice unit. Six- and eight-section wedger kits are optional extras.
