Meiko UK will enter 2015 with vacancies for six new staff members as a result of the growth it has experienced during the past 12 months.
The company says that business is up 12% year-on-year, well over its forecasted budget. This increase in sales has given it the platform to be able to strengthen the team in the UK.
New technical services and sales administrators are being hired for its head office in Slough, while four new engineers are also required.
Once it fills the engineering vacancies, the total number of technicians it employs in the UK will exceed more than 40.
“This has been an incredible year of growth for Meiko UK and is testimony not only to an excellent product range and the efforts of our Partner Distributors, but also to the hard work and dedication of Meiko UK’s office, technical services and sales personnel,” stated managing director Bill Downie.
“Our business from distributors has increased substantially during 2014 and the number of distributors using Meiko products is now over 200,” added Downie, who said the coming 12 months would involve continuing to focus on growing “key areas of business”, especially, its Partner Distributors.”
Meanwhile, Meiko has presented Age Concern with a cheque for £2,500 following a charity initiative that it recently carried out.
The company offered to donate £1 to the organisation every time one of its tweets was re-tweeted to a maximum of £2,500. The cheque was given to Age Concern’s Spencer Denney Centre in Windsor.
“We hope to make a real difference and hope that others will join us and make philanthropy a permanent feature that our industry can be proud of,” said Downie.
