Cathy Wilcox really is a hands-on owner of WilcoxBurchmore.

Along with her business partner, Michael Burchmore, she is involved in every job the Ruislip-based dealer takes on, from start to finish.

Priding herself on being contactable at any point throughout a project, she ensures that end users are presented with a detailed brief, so that both parties are clear on the scheme’s objectives, style of service and atmosphere required.

Cathy makes sure she discusses and agrees a project’s budget and the timings, and develops a design taking these criteria into account.

Over the past 12 months, one of the most significant schemes she has led is for Abbey College in Birmingham.

With a £100k budget, WilcoxBurchmore created the new kitchen area and servery, as well as a bright and airy common room area with several types of seating areas.

Furthermore, a huge 3 year project she was instrumental in, for DLD College in Waterloo, came to fruition in autumn last year.

Cathy designed the kitchen and student eating area, which features a stunning turquoise clad counter with contemporary bench seating and an open plan layout.

Prior to her taking the bold step of starting up her own business in 2011, she had developed a major portfolio of work, spending nearly 10 years at Carford as project manager, followed by a stint at McFarlane Telfer as head of projects and design when the firm still carried out project work.

Cathy and Michael continue to go from strength to strength, with WilcoxBurchmore picking up the Most Improved Cedabond Member Award this year.

The company has grown its spend substantially in the buying consortium and continues to demonstrate “exemplary attention to detail” with regard to reporting and returning information.
