As Managing Director of KCCJ’s projects department, Richard Goodchild can be rightly proud of his achievements in his first 18 months in the role.
Major project completions in this time for the Kent-based distributor include The Sopwell House Hotel near St Albans. KCCJ had to take the existing space’s shell back to bare walls during the process. Furthermore the firm carried out a refurbishment at the University of Derby.
But the main tranche of work Richard is overseeing this year is the mammoth undertaking of football club Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium facilities. KCCJ has even set up a semi-permanent office on the north London site, with works expected to continue into next year.
This follows the delivery of the Liverpool FC stadium expansion project which was worth a massive £2.8m in value to KCCJ. Richard helped to ensure all of these challenging projects were finished on time and to a high standard.
Last year he helped staffing numbers to grow by 30% too, with an increase of eight. This year the distributor’s design department is expanding even further, with two new hires numbering a foodservice consultant and a CAD technician.
Alongside that he has spearheaded the strategy to invest in a new CRM system, new project lead software and brand new website to showcase the company’s new and exciting areas of expertise.
Richard previously worked at Lockhart, where he had been employed since March 2014. That role saw him responsible for the southern sales region, managing both the internal customer services and external sales teams.
