Diane Moden and her sister, Dawn Cheetham, are the driving force behind the success of Blackpool-based Commercial Kitchen Services (CKS).
Founded by their father, Hugh Chatterton, in 1977, the company is flying high thanks to the sisters’ efforts as Directors, as they continue the family tradition of providing a quality service at an affordable price.
Indeed, Diane and Dawn’s opinions are so respected that they found themselves on the BBC’s One Show late last year to detail their views on the current economic climate. And it’s no wonder that their opinions were so upbeat, as CKS’ business is positively brimming with success.
For instance, the distributor has been involved with outfitting catering facilities at the iconic Blackpool Winter Gardens for most of its 40 years of trading. Diane and Dawn are continuing this proud tradition with the latest update, which involved delivering a swift project while working round the complexities of the grade 2 listed building.
Diane and CKS always ensure that they bend over backwards to ensure their customers are pleased, such as at a recent project for Ribby Hall holiday village in Wrea Green, where the equipment outfit had a tight 14-day window. The firm knuckled down to complete the works on time, with some trades even working through the nights.
CKS is also one of the biggest proponents of ENSE, with Diane and Dawn ensuring that as many of the buying group’s suppliers are used in each project as possible, as they believe these companies are committed to working with distributors on price and service, resulting in supply of a bespoke kitchen with state of the art equipment.
