Manitowoc overhauls spare parts operations

Catering equipment manufacturer Manitowoc has launched an online ordering system that offers dealers and end-users access to spare parts 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The new system is the result of a business improvement project implemented by Manitowoc’s aftermarkets team, with the aim of simplifying the way it does business and improving the accessibility to spare parts across the market.

The site features 15,500 spare parts for all of Manitowoc’s 13 separate brands, most of which have accompanying images and technical information.

Robert Jennings, business improvement project team leader, said the system means that customers can now place orders for new partners whenever they want, rather than just during regular office hours.

“The new system gives a user a range of delivery options, the fastest of which is before 10am the following day,” he explained. “Although a mammoth task at the beginning, the satisfaction of seeing a finished system that has already given immediate benefits to our customer base has been extremely rewarding.”

To use the facility dealers need to have an account with Manitowoc. This will enable them to access information and place orders.
