Rotherham-based distributor, Lloyd Catering Equipment, has worked together with major pub chain Mitchells & Butlers to help a Birmingham-headquartered homeless charity.
The dealer donated a brand new six burner gas cooker and a freezer to SIFA Fireside after being contacted by Mitchells & Butlers.
Lloyd’s sales manager Wendy Highfield worked with the operator’s senior recruitment manager Helen Stuttard to complete the donation.
Mitchells & Butlers’ recruitment team originally volunteered to feed the homeless through SIFA Fireside last November. Whilst volunteering, the team saw the struggle that the volunteers had with their faulty cooker and lack of freezer space, which prompted them to enlist Lloyd.
SIFA Fireside prepares and serves breakfast and lunch to homeless people at its centre on Monday to Friday every week. This is all carried out by volunteers including individuals and corporate teams.
Geoff Hall, facilities manager of SIFA Fireside said he was so grateful for the donation, which will help the charity continue to provide over 1,000 meals a week for people in the Birmingham area.
