Oldham based catering supplier Linda Lewis Kitchens (LLK) has reported record growth for the 2017/18 financial year by increasing sales by 53.7%, smashing its £2.3m target.

The documented growth comes at a dynamic time for the pizza equipment firm, which was awarded an accolade at this year’s annual ENSE Spring Conference for achieving ‘outstanding sales performance by increasing turnover through ENSE by over 50% in 2017’.

LLK has also been shortlisted once again for an Oldham Business Award, this year in the Business of the year £1-5m category. In 2017 the supplier won the Oldham Business Award for ‘Supporting Young People’ and is hoping for similar success this year.

The firm reports it has experienced tremendous growth over the past year which MD Linda Lewis puts down to the brand’s relationship with its trusted network of dealers and being part of ENSE and Cedabond.

The pizza specialist’s business model relies on its relationship with dealers. In 2016, LLK launched its fully operational demonstration kitchen at its headquarters in Oldham, which it reports has proved to be beneficial to dealers, as they have gained a greater understanding of LLK’s portfolio which in turn has helped to secure long-term distribution deals.

In 2017, LLK also recruited development chef Fabio Aurelio who is able to advise customers. From those who are looking to dip their toes into the world of pizza to those who require some guidance, specifically with what equipment is best suited to their establishment, Aurelio’s expertise is said to allow him to work closely with dealers and their customer to ensure that they are building a successful pizza operation.

MD Linda Lewis commented: “The demonstration kitchen has been instrumental in being able to support our dealers not only with sales training but also with securing long-term distribution deals. We have found that by opening our kitchen up to customers to effectively ‘try before they buy’ customers feel more confident to make a fully informed buying decision.”

Dealer account manager Natalie White added: “The relationships that we have formed with our distributors, through ENSE and Cedabond, have proved invaluable to us, which has clearly reflected in our growth as a business and within the various buying consortiums, which we are proud to be part of.”

LLK has recently added to its portfolio, with White detailing: “In recent months we have added some new products to our portfolio to ensure we can offer all the latest innovations to make a customer’s pizza concept a success.”
