Refrigerator manufacturer Liebherr has won the Best Ideas and Innovation Management Award at the ideasEurope Conference in Brussels.
The accolade was presented by the German Institute for Ideas and Innovation Management and ideasEurope.
Thomas Kandolf, innovation manager at Liebherr-Hausgeräte Lienz where the company’s commercial refrigerators and freezers are designed, tested and manufactured, said: “We are very pleased to have won this award and to be able to compete with the leading European companies in innovation management. Our systematic approach to new ideas and how we pursue these through innovative products and services is what sets us apart.”
In order to receive the award, the jury analyses how the idea and innovation management in the company is structurally anchored and what social and entrepreneurial importance the submitted ideas and innovations have.
Stephen Ongley, national sales manager for Liebherr Great Britain’s refrigeration division added: “Dedication to innovation is at the heart of the commercial refrigeration units for foodservice and retail that Liebherr offers in the UK from the latest energy saving design features to LED lighting, but crucially this prestigious award underlines that innovation is being nurtured across all areas of the business to benefit our customers.”
Since the beginning of 2017 Liebherr has further focused on training in innovation management and creative techniques. In the future, these should also be applied within the division to provide employees with continuous training and to systematise innovation and provide support with targeted methods.
