Lincat has confirmed that former Manitowoc regional sales chief John Shepherd is heading up the FriFri business that the Lincoln-based manufacturer has just taken under its wing.
As international brand manager, Shepherd’s role will be to consolidate existing business and build sales of the FriFri range of high-specification electric fryers internationally, with a particular focus on EMEA.
The design, production and sales of the FriFri range were recently transferred from Italy to Lincat’s UK manufacturing facility. The move has involved a comprehensive overhaul of the brand’s production, quality, stock control, sales and after-sales systems and processes.
Shepherd, who has also worked for Hobart and Rational in the past, will serve as a link between factory and distributor.
“My role is to make sure that FriFri, a premium product, is backed by a premium service,” explained Shepherd. “We have applied Lincat organisational and manufacturing expertise to the entire FriFri operation, to restore customer confidence in every aspect of the brand and its products.”
FriFri, which was bought by Lincat’s parent company Middleby in 2009, produces 12 freestanding units, 13 built-in fryers and 11 counter-top models, all available in a number of power and voltage variants.
Steve Mitchell, managing director of Lincat, said Shepherd’s appointment sends a “clear message” to customers that it’s pulling out the stops to take the FriFri brand to a new level.
“John is an industry expert in fryers and we’re very happy to have someone with his knowledge, experience and enthusiasm leading the FriFri drive,” he said.
