Refrigeration specialist Hoshizaki has joined the Catering Insight Awards 2017 sponsor line-up to back the Digital Initiative of the Year distributor category.

This rounds out a full house of distributor category sponsorships for the first time in the history of the gala event, which this year will take place at 8 Northumberland Avenue in the heart of Central London on Thursday 23 November.

New for 2017, the Digital Initiative of the Year category will honour a distributor, either traditional or online, who has really embraced the digital medium, whether it is for sales, service, technology, showcasing their capabilities or an innovative social media campaign. This can encompass everything from BIM, virtual reality technology, website design and function or utilising the Twitter/Facebook/LinkedIn tools at their disposal.

Steve Loughton, director, UK and Ireland at Hoshizaki UK commented: “The Catering Insight Awards represent the pinnacle event in the catering equipment dealers’ calendar, and as such Hoshizaki is delighted to sponsor the Digital Initiative of the Year category for the first time in 2017.

“With technology playing such a key part in our industry, both in terms of equipment sold and online platforms used, many distributors have really embraced innovation when it comes to showcasing their capabilities. In an age where BIM technology is a requirement of public sector projects and increasingly being used in private sector builds, virtual reality is generating an all new way to view planned kitchen and restaurant designs prior to completion and the age of social media creates an entirely different way to interact with dealers and distributors, embracing the digital revolution is vital.”

He also praised the black tie event itself, saying: “The Catering Insight Awards, now in their third year, offer a great way to celebrate success and recognise truly great practice in a room full of some of the industry’s most reputable dealers, distributors, manufacturers and suppliers. The Hoshizaki team are looking forward to celebrating this success with over 200 of our industry counterparts.”
