Catering equipment distributor Genie Interiors has rebuilt the kitchen at a popular wedding venue devastated by fire last year.
The historic Priory Barn, situated near Hitchin in Hertfordshire, can trace its origins back to 1541, but disaster struck at the end of 2013 when a blaze broke out.
Catering for weddings takes place in an 18m x 5m purpose-built kitchen alongside the Priory Barn, but the timber frame structure was left gutted by the fire, meaning a complete rebuild and kitchen refit was needed.
The venue now has a fully operational new kitchen, just in time for peak wedding season.
“I am delighted, and very relieved, that the project is now finished,” said the venue’s owner John Hope. “The fire could have caused us much worse problems, but thanks to Genie Interiors and the other contractors working so well together, it was completed in just 15 weeks.”
Genie is a premier installer of Altro Whiterock products, so the project involved the fit-out of the brand’s latest wall cladding and safety flooring.
