Steve Holley, commercial director at Hampshire-based distributor HCE Foodservice Equipment, is to undertake a skydive for charity.
On Sunday 21 May he will be doing a 13,000ft freefall tandem jump to raise money for the Oakhaven Hospice Trust in Lymington.
Holley commented: “Terrified as I am of heights, I was motivated to do this as a result of seeing first-hand the work these caring people do to give not only genuine end-of-life care to those unfortunate to suffer with terrible illness, but also provide such great support to their families.”
Oakhaven provides care to over 200 patients every week, including Holley’s mother-in-law Hannelore.
He added: “I watched my niece Emma partake in the Oakhaven Skydive last year and felt an overwhelming need to do the same. Sometimes you have to face your fears and Oakhaven were so supportive of Hannelore in her time of need I simply feel compelled to do something meaningful and worthwhile in her memory.”
