Halton expands global presence

Halton Group has expanded its worldwide presence by establishing a new legal entity in Singapore, the company revealed today.

Asia remains a growing market for the kitchen ventilation specialist but its sales activities in Singapore have previously been led from Malaysia. It has supplied kit for high-profile projects involving international hotel chains, casinos and a sports hub.

However, in order to develop a service and maintenance business, the company has decided to open a local office. Singapore is now the 30th country where Halton operates.

“Sales in Singapore could still be led from Malaysia, but we deliver a great amount of foodservice ventilation solutions for professional kitchens and restaurants, and these systems require regular maintenance,” explained Olli Sipila, director for Halton Asia.

“Organising services and maintenance from further away is difficult mainly due to logistical reasons, and work permit issues for local staff. Therefore we decided to establish a separate entity in Singapore, because this way it is easier to develop and increase not only sales, but also services.”

Halton established its first Asian office and manufacturing facility in Malaysia 18 years ago. Last year the company moved its production facilities to larger premises and opened a brand new R&D centre.
