Goodfellows takes over Norwegian brand’s UK distribution

Norwegian luxury tableware firm Figgjo intends to step up its presence in the UK after signing a distribution agreement aimed at leading it into the casual dining space.

The porcelain specialist has appointed Goodfellow and Goodfellow to launch the new ranges as part of a deal that will also see the County Durham-based outfit take over all new UK promotional and distribution activities from September 1.

Figgjo’s extensive portfolio of products includes solutions for restaurants and caterers looking for stylish and durable products through all aspects of dining, from fine dining through to casual and buffet concepts.

Simmer Vikesa, managing director of Figgjo, said the company wanted to ensure its brand had the best possible representation in the UK with our target customers.

“We believe that Goodfellows is the ideal partner to take the Figgjo brand forward,” he said. “We want to develop into areas where Goodfellows have a particularly strong influence and we look forward to working closely with them to evolve our product development with the particular needs of the UK market in mind.”

Figgjo is a large exporter, with 40% of production being sold on the international market in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and South-East Asia.

Goodfellows was launched two years ago and employs 16 people from its 8,500 square metre office and warehouse in County Durham. It also operates a luxury showroom on London’s Baker Street.
