GastroNorth (formerly Up North Foodservice Equipment) has recently completed a £128,000 kitchen project at the University of Northumbria’s Coach Lane Campus.
The distributor was brought in by Robertson Construction Limited to design, supply and install a brand new back of house kitchen, preparation and storage area, theatre style pizza corner and a modern ‘street food style’ grab and go counter system.
Calling on the company’s experience of working in the sector and turning traditional catering facilities into fashionable and trendy dining stops, it was able to transform CAD design plans into a state of the art redevelopment.
The project features Moffat counter systems, Rational combination ovens, Blue Seal prime cooking equipment, a Mansfield Pollard ventilation system and a Linda Lewis Cuppone triple deck pizza oven.
Sales manager, Bob Vardy, commented: “This is a great project and we are thrilled to have played our part in modernising the backyard canteen at Coach Lane.
“We were working on a really tight timescale on this job and we had to plan efficiently to ensure we handed the kitchen over to the university on time. The extract design was a minor concern due to the tricky layout of the existing building infrastructure.”
The project is one of a number of education sector developments the GastroNorth team have recently been working on.
