GastroNorth recently teamed up with interior designer Space ID and Gainford Hotels to create a luxurious setting for a brand new bar and restaurant located within Newcastle’s city centre.
The Hudson is a cocktail bar and all-day eatery which can be found within the historic County Hotel, serving up cocktails and seasonal menus which should cater for all.
With a brief to create a relatively open kitchen which would serve the restaurant in the evening and provide breakfast for the hotel guests in the morning, the GastroNorth team installed new and existing catering equipment to the refurbished kitchen and bar.
The distributor reported that the £100,000 project was an enjoyable one, particularly for sales and design engineer Simon Neill. “We integrated a large open pass and a Mareno island suite which were both highlights for me, even though the Mareno suite was quite a challenge to get into the building,” he said.
“The island suite looks fantastic in the black paint finish, but it’s the open pass that allows the suite to be seen in all its glory.”
Neill worked alongside the Mareno team on this project and praised them: “They did a great job arranging the delivery of the suite from Italy and kept everyone in the know regarding arrival time. On the day, everything arrived on time and in perfect condition.”
The Hudson works followed on from a new Hoshizaki ice machines installation at the hotel, as well as refurbishment of the first floor function kitchen and the installation of two new first floor Bartizan Bars and a new Bartizan Bar at the ground floor Hudson Bar.
