Gamble Foodservice Solutions has reiterated its 100% focus on trade sales following its rebranding from Imperial Catering Equipment at the start of this month.
As part of the due diligence for the rebrand exercise, the company sat down with several of its key customers to find out what the business meant to them and establish what they want from it in future.
Sales director, Andy Piggin, admits that apart from being asked if it was still going to sell Imperial (which it is), the main question that arose was: ‘Are you going direct?’
He stresses there is absolutely no chance of that happening. “The strategy of Gamble Foodservice Solutions is that we are strictly a wholesale supplier to bonafide catering distributors,” comments Piggin. “The value we offer is that we will secure specification to multiple site caterers through menu and product development, which will then be channelled via distributors."
He adds: “Through only selling to distributors we empower them to specify our brands with confidence, knowing that if it comes to the crunch we are not going to take it direct or they not going to lose the sale.”
