Frima has appointed Kevin Tombs as its new regional sales manager for the Midlands area.
He will look after the company’s dealer network in the region, organise CookLive events and develop sales in sectors including education, hotels and restaurants, where he has particular expertise.
Tombs has experience in the foodservice industry, most recently in sales, but before that he spent several years as a chef working for companies such as Elior, Group 4 and Whitbread. He commented: “I know the pressure chefs face in the kitchen, juggling, prioritising and trying to maximise profits. The VarioCooking Center brings huge benefits in terms of food quality, time saving and cost reductions – it makes the chef’s life easier.”
He hung up his chef’s whites and moved into sales in 2004, working for Hunts Foodservice, Paramount 21, Class Catering and, most recently, Brakes. He is experienced in areas such as key account management, NPD and menu development for clients.
Graham Kille, MD of Frima UK, added: “Kevin will be a great addition to our team. He knows his way around the kitchen and his experience in sales is a perfect match for us. He’s also passionate about modern cooking technology.
“As Frima’s UK sales continue to grow, his input will help us capitalise on the increasing interest in multifunctional cooking equipment.”
