Independent catering equipment engineer Darren Sharpe has launched Catersafe.org, a foodservice equipment and engineer supplier directory.
It is aimed at manufacturers, distributors, installers, repair and service personnel, catering establishments and food outlets anywhere in the UK and Ireland. Sharpe explained: “I get calls from end users who found it very difficult to find service providers able and willing to give the service they required.
“I have been in the foodservice industry for the last 25 years working mainly as a self-employed engineer. I know how hard it can be to build a name and secure business in a very fragmented industry, so I created a website designed to bring together foodservice equipment suppliers and service companies to work together for the benefit of the industry and catering establishments.”
The website is being marketed as a ‘one-stop-shop’ for anyone connected with foodservice or hospitality to quickly find the equipment or service provider they need.
The site is gaining listed members at a steady rate, including the recent addition of Sammic as the directory’s first national account equipment provider.
Sharpe added: “The site hits are growing very quickly and I’m looking to have listings increase by 100 in the next 2-3 months and 750 by the end of the year.”
